Diamond wedding bands at President Jewellers are made to order in our Hatton Garden workshop and hallmarked at the London Assay Office. Choose from full eternity, half eternity, channel-set, pavé and bezel-set styles in platinum or 18ct white, yellow or rose gold. Lead time is 7 to 14 working days from order confirmation. Every diamond is GIA, IGI or HRD certified. Free lifetime resizing on every band that can be resized, and free insured UK delivery on every order.

Styles of diamond wedding band

A diamond wedding band sets diamonds into the band itself — set across the full circumference, halfway round, or as accent stones. The five styles we make:

  • Full eternity — diamonds set continuously around the entire band. The strongest visual statement; not resizable.
  • Half eternity — diamonds across the front half of the band only. Resizable and more comfortable for daily wear.
  • Channel-set — diamonds held between two parallel metal walls, sitting flush with the band's surface. Catch-resistant; the standard for active hands.
  • Pavé — small diamonds set in tight clusters with minimal visible metal between them. Maximum sparkle for the carat weight; needs careful setting work.
  • Bezel-set — each diamond rimmed in metal. The most secure setting; clean modern silhouette.

Metals and hallmarks

Every metal we work in carries a London Assay Office hallmark. Available metals:

  • 950 platinum — the most durable choice; holds a polish for years. Heaviest and most expensive.
  • 18ct white gold — bright finish, lighter on the hand than platinum, requires re-rhodium plating every 2-3 years.
  • 18ct yellow gold — traditional and warm; maintains its colour without re-plating.
  • 18ct rose gold — pink hue from added copper; lower-maintenance than white gold.

Hallmark stamps include the maker's mark, fineness mark (950 / 750), London Assay Office leopard's head, and the date letter.

Choosing a wedding band to match an engagement ring

The wedding band sits next to the engagement ring on the finger — they should look intentional together. Three rules our jewellers apply:

  1. Match the metal. Mixed-metal pairings look unintentional unless one is platinum and the other yellow gold by design.
  2. Match the profile height. A flat-top wedding band beside a high-cathedral engagement ring leaves an awkward gap. We bring engagement rings into the workshop to measure the under-gallery and shape the wedding band to sit flush.
  3. Match the diamond size. If the engagement ring has a 1.5-2mm diamond shoulder, a 1.5-2mm pavé wedding band reads as a set. Larger and the wedding band steals attention.

We offer a free Hatton Garden appointment to bring your engagement ring in and CAD the wedding band against it before any metal is cut.

Sizing, comfort and lead time

Wedding bands are sized in UK letters (A-Z). The Hatton Garden workshop sizes to a quarter-letter — sizes like K¼ and M½ exist for finger shapes that fall between standard sizes. Comfort profiles available:

  • Flat — flat external, flat internal. Traditional.
  • Court — gently curved external and internal. The most comfortable for daily wear and our default.
  • D-shape — curved external, flat internal. Modern profile.
  • Flat-court — flat external, curved internal. Contemporary look with court comfort.

Lead time is 7 to 14 working days from order confirmation. Free lifetime resizing on half-eternity, channel-set and bezel-set wedding bands.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a diamond wedding band cost in the UK?

Diamond wedding bands at President Jewellers range from £850 to £3,500, depending on diamond carat weight, clarity grade and metal choice. An 18ct gold half-eternity band with small accent diamonds sits at the lower end; a platinum full eternity band with higher total carat weight sits at the upper end. Every quote is itemised before commitment.

Should the wedding band match the engagement ring?

The wedding band should match the engagement ring in metal and profile height, and should complement (not duplicate) its diamond size. Mixed metals look unintentional unless platinum is paired with yellow gold by design. Bring your engagement ring to our Hatton Garden workshop and we will shape the wedding band to sit flush against the under-gallery before any metal is cut.

What is the lead time for a bespoke diamond wedding band?

Bespoke diamond wedding bands take 7 to 14 working days from order confirmation. The process is: CAD design (1-2 days), customer approval, silver or wax sample (2-3 days), casting in the chosen metal (3-5 days), stone setting and polishing (2-3 days), and London Assay Office hallmark (1-2 days). Free insured UK delivery follows hallmarking.

Are diamond wedding bands hallmarked?

Yes. Every diamond wedding band made at President Jewellers is hallmarked at the London Assay Office, the oldest assay office in the United Kingdom. The hallmark certifies the precious metal content (950 for platinum, 750 for 18ct gold) and includes our maker's mark, the leopard's head London town mark and the date letter for the year of assay.

Can a diamond wedding band be resized?

Half-eternity, channel-set and bezel-set diamond wedding bands can be resized up or down by one size in most cases. Full eternity bands cannot be resized once made because diamonds are set continuously around the entire circumference — they need to be remade in the new size. Free lifetime resizing on every band that can be resized — no time limit, no fee.

Do you offer try-on appointments in Hatton Garden?

Yes. Free appointments at our 23 Hatton Garden workshop, Monday to Saturday. Bring your engagement ring; we will measure the under-gallery, take finger sizing to the nearest quarter-letter, and present design options in CAD with diamond and metal samples before any commitment. Book on +44 800 037 8094 or by email.

What is the difference between channel-set and pavé diamond wedding bands?

Channel-set wedding bands hold diamonds between two parallel metal walls so the stones sit flush with the band surface — catch-resistant, ideal for active hands. Pavé wedding bands set small diamonds in tight clusters with minimal visible metal between them — more sparkle per carat but the setting work is more delicate and pavé needs gentler handling.
