Our process

How a piece is made

From a first sketch to the final hallmark, every piece we make passes through six considered stages. We will write to you at each one, so you always know where your order is. There is no rush here — the right ring is worth the time it takes.

Timeline

  • Step one

Design

Your brief becomes a sketch. We discuss stone, metal and proportion — either in person at our atelier or on a short video call. There is no charge for this conversation.

  • Step two

CAD renders

We send you two views of your ring: a photoreal render showing how the finished piece will look, and a technical drawing with every measurement annotated. You approve both before any material is cut.

  • Step three

Silver sample

We make a 1:1 replica of your ring in sterling silver and post it to you. Hold it, try it on, refine the fit. We will not cast in your chosen metal until the sample feels right.

  • Step four

Casting

Approved, the piece is cast in your chosen metal — 18ct gold, platinum or palladium. From a render and a sample, your ring is now a physical piece.

  • Step five

Stone setting

Your centre stone is hand-set by our master setter. Side stones follow. This is the most delicate stage and the one we never rush.

  • Step six

Finishing & hallmarking

Polishing by hand, hallmarking at the London Assay Office, and a final quality check before dispatch with fully insured FedEx delivery.

Sourcing the stone

Every stone is independently certified

For loose-stone orders, we work with a global network of GIA, IGI and HRD-graded suppliers. Every stone arrives with its grading certificate, and is independently quality-checked at our London atelier before it is packaged. For laser-inscribed diamonds, we verify the inscription on the girdle matches the certificate number.

What every piece passes through

London Assay Office

Every gold and platinum piece is hallmarked at the London Assay Office before dispatch.

Quality check

Our gemmologist verifies every stone against its certificate before it leaves the atelier.

Insured FedEx delivery

Every order is dispatched fully insured with FedEx tracking. Signature required on delivery.

After it arrives

Yours for a lifetime

The centre stone carries a 30-day return window — so you can be entirely sure of the stone you have chosen. Your bespoke setting is made specifically for you and is not returnable. Every piece comes with a lifetime warranty, and resizing, polishing and minor adjustments are complimentary for life. We are here whenever you need us.
